Jones
Former attorney-at-law, Sonia Jones, died on Sunday following a long battle with ovarian cancer. The 61-year-old died at the University Hospital of the West Indies, St. Andrew on Sunday night, in the presence of her immediate family.
Vibrant person
Her brother, Derek Jones, former president of the Jamaican Bar Association, told The Gleaner yesterday that the family was finding it hard to come to terms with her death.
"It's tough, because she was such a vibrant person. It's difficult to think that she is gone so soon," he said.
Ms. Jones was a former director at The Gleaner Company Ltd., Amnesty International, the Jamaica Council for Human Rights, Kingston Restoration Company and the Jamaica National Building Society. She was also chairman of the Institute of Jamaica.
