New trial dates set

New trials dates were set on Monday for President of the National Association of Taxi Operators, Edgerton Newman, who is charged with carnal abuse and Prince Vale, 25, labourer of a Kingston address, who is charged with the murder of Anglican Priest Father Richard Johnson.

Newman's case has been set for trial on November 23 in the Home Circuit Court, while Vale will be tried on January 14.

It is being alleged that on January 10, 2006, Newman sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl at his office. He is on bail in the sum of $100,000 with a surety. Newman is being represented by K. Churchill Neita, Q.C.

Vale's case was set for trial Tuesday in the Home Circuit Court but had to be adjourned because some of the prosecution witnesses did not attend court.

Vale is on bail in he sum of $250,00 with a surety.Father Johnson was fatally stabbed at his residence near the St. Jude's Anglican Church, Stony Hill on November 12, 2006.Vale is being represented by attorney-at-law Arthur Kitchin.
