IF YOU ARE any where near the usually quiet, rural districts of Liberty Gardens and Dunbarton, St. Ann tomorrow and hear the thunderous roar of car engines, don't be worried - it's the grand finale race at the Dover raceway.

Tomorrow's meet will bring together the best crop of drivers from the eastern, western and central parts of the island with the lone driver from central Jamaica, Peter 'Bull' Thompson, hoping to deliver this time around.

The local hero of May Pen, Clarendon, has been preparing for the past two race meets but seems to be under a spell, as on the day of the meet something always seems to happen and he is prevented from facing the starter.

Rain or sunshine, 'Bull' Thompson said he is ready.

His main rival, Doug Gore, is hungry for the return clash and has detuned his Mitsubishi Evolution. It is now down to 450 horsepower.

"This is still enough power to lead them," said Gore.

His sibling, Matthew, and teammates Guy Fraser and Gary Williams are equally ready to take on Kingstonians Peter Rae and former Caribbean champion David Summerbell.

"I am pretty good," were the words of Summerbell, while transporting his Mitsubishi Evolution to Dover yesterday.

His teammate Rae was still adding the finishing touches to the New York Brake/Autodon/Liberty Auto Mazda RX7.

His big United States sponsor, Mark Gerber, will be at the track, and Rae knows that he will have to pull out all stops to take the chequered flag.

The highpoint of tomorrow's meet, which begins at noon, will be the rivalry in the MP3 and GTS Classes. The man all eyes be watching is veteran Clinton 'Pinky' McGann. He is well prepared and should pose a serious threat to the title chasers.
