WICB president to review team's recent performances
published: Sunday | October 14, 2007

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

WEST INDIES Cricket Board (WICB) president Julian Hunte was expected in Guyana yesterday for a series of meetings with the West Indies team management, to review the recent international assignments.

He will have debriefing meetings with the manager, coach and captains of the recent tours to England and the Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa.

Hunte, who took over from Ken Gordon in July, will meet with Mike Findlay and David Moore, who served as manager and coach respectively on both tours.

The president is also expected to meet Ramnaresh Sarwan, who was appointed captain for the tour of England and also led the Twenty20 World Series; Daren Ganga, who deputised after Sarwan was injured on the trip to England; and Chris Gayle, who captained the side in the one-day and Twenty20 series in England.

The West Indies lost the Test series 3-0 to England but recovered to win the limited-overs series.

They made an early exit in the Twenty20 World Cup, losing to South Africa and Bangladesh in the first round.

The next assignment is a one-day tour to Zimbabwe in November, followed by a trip to South Africa from December to February where they will play three Tests and five one-dayers.
