'Send the criminals to war in Iraq!'
published: Wednesday | October 10, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Now is the time for the new administration led by Prime Minister Bruce Golding to step out and direct the war on the criminal elements within the society.

Since research has shown that most of the nation's crimes are committed by young men between 14 and 30, shouldn't the Government declare war islandwide on them and get them ready for military duties?

After all the talk about softness at the 'Gun Court', and no to hanging, it is about time the Government declares war on criminals and force them to gain experience in the military then make application to the U.S. government to take some of them and let them face the real war in Iraq. That could well be an answer to Jamaica's woes!

I am, etc.,
