LINSTEAD, ST. CATHERINE:

The Minister of Housing, Transport, Water and Works, Robert Pickersgill, broke ground on Tuesday for a multimillion-dollar transport centre for the town of Linstead in North West St. Catherine.

The development, which is to take place at 23 King Street in the town, will be funded by the Transport Authority of Jamaica to the tune of $25 million, and is expected to be completed in four months.

The minister, who is also Member of Parliament for the constituency, said the undertaking was the fulfilment of a commitment he made last year when he broke ground for a taxi-stand in the town.

He promised then that within three months he would be back to break ground on the transport centre.
