ARNETT GARDENS Rockers will be looking for a third straight win in the KFC National Basketball League when they go up against Blazing Panthers this evening at the University of the West Indies courts at 6:45.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Link Up All-Stars face Pure Playaz at 5:00 p.m.

Rockers defeated Harbour View Lakers 69-53 on Monday and edged champions St. George's Slayers 70-68 on Thursday to start the season confidently.

Arnett Gardens, with their customary running style, will face a Panthers side equal to the task. They lost their opening game to Portmore Flames on Tuesday in a high scoring 94-91 duel. Led by Kirk Ferguson and Lynford Brown, Panthers should keep pace with Arnett Gardens with Delano Mallet and Arnell Campbell taking charge.

Rebound from opening defeat

Link Up All-Stars will be trying to rebound from their opening defeat to Runnin' Rebels when they play one of the promoted teams, Pure Playaz of Portland. Sharpshooter Leighton Meeks had 30 of his team's 56 points in Link Up's first game and should be the go-to man today.

Pure Playaz were thrashed 108-45 in their first game against Denham Town Wizards on Thursday, but coach Lorna Lawson says she is expecting a better game today.

"I was expecting much more from the players on Thursday and I know they can do much better," said Lawson. "They were probably a bit nervous in the first game, so I'm looking forward to the next game on Sunday against Link-Up."
