Bahamas,US in anti-drug war
published: Monday | March 5, 2007

NASSAU, Bahamas (CMC):

The United States and The Bahamas continue to work closely in the eradication of narcotics and human trafficking in the Caribbean island.

U.S. Narcotics Affairs Officer David Foran said the Bahamas and the United States continue in a spirit of cooperation in vital matters but he pointed to a new disturbing and increasing trend in the cultivation and production there of marijuana by foreign nationals, especially Jamaicans.

Foran called on the Bahamian government to continue to provide more resources for the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the police to fight the scourge.
