MANDEVILLE, Manchester:
AMBITIOUS RENO needed Seba's scalp to maintain the pressure on front-running duo of Harbour View and Waterhouse, and predictably found the fillip in the magic of their new-found home at STETHS and two strategic strikes by hometown boy Kirk Wright
yesterday.
Wright got in a powerful header past Neil Lynch in the third minute and then converted with aplomb from the penalty spot in the 56th to carry Reno to a 2-1 victory and 37 points.
For Seba, it continued a disappointing scenario where their spectators must have felt aggrieved that the team for the second straight week shot itself in the foot.
Defender sent off for dissent
Defender Sian McLeish was sent off for dissent as his team prepared to take a free kick from a dangerous angle inside the Reno 18-yard box.
It could not have come at a worse time as Seba had just scored - ironically, from Wilfred Smith, who entered the game as a substitute after being condemned for missing a penalty as the team trailed Tivoli 1-0 in their previous game.
The opportunity was duly snuffed out, and so were Seba's chances.
Reno 2 (Kirk Wright third, 56th)
Seba 1 (Wilfred Smith 68th)
