Police investigators are expected to complete forensic tests by later today as they intensify their probe into the disappearance of 75-year-old Mande-ville businessman Richard Lyn and his 71-year-old wife Julia.
At the same time the family of the missing couple is offering a $500,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the return of the couple who have been missing since Sunday morning.
Mr. Lyn, who is also a Justice of the Peace, and his wife operate a furniture store in Park Crescent, Mandeville.
Additional resources
Head of the Major Investi-gative Task Force, Assistant Commissioner of Police Leslie Green, told The Gleaner/Power 106 News yesterday that additional resources had been assigned to assist in the search.
It is reported that the Kingston-based Kidnapping Unit and detectives from other divisions of the Jamaica Constabulary Force have now joined in the investigations.
"We are conducting all normal courses of investigation. Every effort is being made to find them," ACP Green said, adding that further detailed forensic analyses were undertaken yesterday. The police have collected samples of forensic clues including droplets of blood, which were found at the couple's ransacked house in Battersea, near Ingleside in Mandeville.
In an impassioned plea yesterday, Dian Lyn urged the public to help find her parents.
"My father and mother are good people," she said between sobs. "I'm just asking the public to help us."
Miss Lyn was speaking following a meeting with police investigators in Mandeville.
