Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) The Young and the Restless.
NBC soaps Passions and Days of Our Lives have never lacked in good-looking talent. However, since we can't all have Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) cheekbones and Fancy's (Emily Harper) waistline, NBC is at least giving us a chance to emulate them.
At www.cranecouture.com you can fill your shopping cart with items from Fancy Crane's fall fashion line. Whether you're looking for a black velvet military-style jacket or a kimono-sleeve jersey dress, Fancy has them. Also, don't forget to click on her "fashion tips" and check out her jewelry to complete your look.
Speaking of jewelry, Kristian Alfonso, who plays Hope Brady on Days, has launched the new jewelry line Hope Faith Miracles. If you've admired Hope's signature fleur-de-lis pendant, it is now available for just US$95. Alfonso describes why she created this design: "The body symbolises hope, and the two branches faith and miracles. The fleur-de-lis has always been the symbol of my inspiration." Her collection also includes sterling-silver and cubic-zirconia earrings, necklaces and bracelets - and even stationery - designed and worn by Alfonso. Prices range from US$24 to US$95 and are available online at www.hopefaithmiracles.com.
COMINGS AND GOINGS:
Word is that Eileen Davidson has been let go from The Young and the Restless. The actress originated the role of Ashley Abbott, left and then came back in 2001. First John Abbott dies, and now Ashley is leaving in some capacity. Let's hope Jack (Peter Bergman) isn't the next to go. The Abbotts have long been a core family on the soap, opposite the Newmans, so the news of Davidson's firing is shocking to say the least. Maybe the loss of John and Ashley will all be a bad dream - let's hope.
A familiar face is coming to Y&R for the holidays, Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Lauren's (Tracey E. Bregman) meddlesome mother. She first airs December 15. Also coming to Y&R this season is international singing sensation and pop-opera quartet Il Divo. They will perform on the soap's New Year's Eve episode, which airs December 29.
Kerry Butler, who plays Claudia on One Life to Live, is leaving in early January. The character's story line has run its course.
On Guiding Light, Harley's (Beth Ehlers) daughter, Susan Lemay, the child she conceived with Dylan when they were teenagers, is coming back to Springfield. Last played by Brittany Snow, who went on to star on the now-canceled prime-time drama American Dreams, Susan has been recast with Bonnie Dennison. The young actress is new to daytime but has appeared on Third Watch and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Dennison debuts January 10.
If you can't get enough drama during the day, the new channel MyNetworkTV has brought back the prime-time soap opera. Wicked Wicked Games is a daily one-hour drama starring Tatum O'Neal, Joan Severance and Clive Robertson (ex-Ben/Derek on Sunset Beach). O'Neal plays a woman scorned who is seeking revenge against her ex 25 years later. The drama premiered December 6 and airs in the 8 p.m. time slot. Also making its debut on December 6 was Watch Over Me, which chronicles the love triangle between a beautiful woman, her fiance and the man hired to protect them. The soap stars Dayanara Torres, Marc Menard and Todd Cahoon.
