Youthlink is breaking new ground! As of next week, the teen magazine, a publication of The Gleaner, will become a stand-alone product on sale at schools and other newspaper outlets islandwide.

The magazine, written by teens for teens and published every Tuesday, has more readership than all similar products on the local market, according to the latest survey conducted by pollster Bill Johnson and his team of researchers.

Kareem Latouche, the magazine's coordinator, says Youthlink has something in it for every teen. "We try to educate teens in an entertaining manner with insightful articles and social issues that are centred on problems facing teens," says Kareem.

Youthlink provides Jamaica's youth with opportunities to read about teen views, news entertainment, life and career skills.

"We also have new and improved sections coming ... We know teens are going to find them interesting," he adds.

The magazine now has its own show on radio's king of talk, Power 106 FM. The Youthlink show can be heard every Saturday morning starting at 9 o'clock.
