JAMAICA'S COMMONWEALTH Games champion Brigitte Foster-Hylton led a trio of Caribbean winners at the IAAF Lille European Athletic Association (EAA) Premium Meeting on Friday night.
Foster-Hylton ran 12.70 seconds to land the women's 100-metre hurdles, while her Jamaican colleague Dean Griffiths and Martinique-born Ronald Pognon also registered wins at the meet in France.
In the women's sprint hurdles, Foster-Hylton ran the identical time that took her to victory at Norway's Bislett Games a week earlier, as she fought off countrywoman Delloreen Ennis-London (12.81) and Poland's Aurelia Trywianska (12.87) for the victory.
The Jamaicans made it one-two in the men's 400m hurdles with Griffiths posting a personal season's best 48.81 seconds to defeat Kemel Thompson (48.86).
American Garrett Labronze (49.31) was third and Jamaica's Gregory Little fourth in 49.81 seconds.
Representing France, Pognon clocked 10.22 seconds to win the men's 100 metres, chased by Nigeria's Olujosi Fasuba (10.23) and American Kaaron Conwright (10.27).
Kittitian 2003 World Champion Kim Collins, on the comeback trail from injury, clocked his fastest time this year, 10.33, in taking fourth spot.
American Lolo Jones won the women's 100 metres in 11.36, edging Jamaica's Commonwealth Games champion Sheri-Ann Brooks (11.37), while Lavern Jones, of the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), placed a close-up third in 11.39.
GOOD WIN
In the women's 200, Belgium's Kim Gevaert clocked 22.84 seconds for a good win over the USVI's Jones (22.92) and Brooks (23.09), with Cayman's Cydonie Mothersill fourth in 23.17 seconds. Jamaican Peta Gaye Dowdie placed sixth in 23.73 seconds.
American Rodney Martin clocked 20.38 to land the men's half-lap sprint ahead of Pognon (20.56).
Congo's Gary Kikaya ran 44.83 to win the men's 400 metres ahead of a pair of Caribbean athletes - Grenada's World Indoor champion Alleyne Francique (45.16) getting second and Trinidad and Tobago's Ato Modibo (45.51) third. Jamaican Sanjay Ayre was fifth in 45.79.
