Wolmer's student accepted into leadership programme
published: Monday | June 12, 2006

ROBINSON

KHERI-ANN ROBINSON, a student at Wolmer's Girls' School, will join a select group of students representing their schools, communities, and states as People to People student leaders. Robinson has been accepted into the People to People Future Leaders Summit on Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, on June 15-24.

All students accepted into a People to People programme must meet rigorous academic and leadership requirements. Robinson was nominated and accepted for the honour based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.

The People to People Future Leaders Summits on law, medicine, leadership, theatre and the arts, and international diplomacy bring together outstanding student leaders from around the globe to focus on leadership, team building, community service, college admissions, and professional aspirations.

ACTION PLAN

Students work on an action plan to make a difference in their communities, develop skills to help them lead tomorrow's world, and build their college resumes, while earning academic or service-learning credit.

Participants also gain insights to guide their educational and professional careers, and benefit from a strong focus on college admissions. Through workshops, presentations, excursions and discussions, student leaders attain a clear advantage as they pursue and fine-tune their selected fields of interest. Students will have the opportunity to meet with admissions officers and gain valuable advice for navigating the college application process. In some locations, students will be able to tour several area universities.

The 2006 People to People Future Leaders Summits will convene at Columbia University, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, University of California, Los Angeles, and Stanford.

The programme is coordinated by People to People Ambassador Programmes to fulfil the vision President Dwight D. Eisenhower had for fostering world citizenship when he founded People to People during the presidency in 1956. For additional information, please visit www.futureleaderssummit.org.
