HUNDREDS BRAVED the rain to trek to Saint International's Fashionblock in New Kingston on Sunday night. Thankfully, the patrons and models were spared after waiting an extra week for the show.

The show lasted almost three hours, but not many seemed to notice or care for that matter because of the clothes. However, one couldn't help but wonder if most weren't more enthralled by the models. The women in the crowd loved the bare-chested chiselled male models and the men loved the bare-as-you-dare females, especially Kenyan model, Ajuma. According to Jerry D, the MC for the evening, it was a "titillating show."

DREAM MODELS

At one point in the show, Jerry D invited all the women in the crowd who thought they "looked good enough to be a model" onstage. Like in any good movie, most did not have the stereotypical 'model look'. The girls strutted their stuff on the runway several times, however, and the crowd got a laugh out of it, but they had the difficult task of choosing a winner. A buxom diva, with shorts lost in her curves and a tank top, which was just as small, was eventually voted the winner. Apparently, she won a Digicel phone for her attitude.

NO UNNECESSARY DELAYS

Singer, Tami Chynn, was also given a Digicel phone by the company's representative for being an "up and coming talent."

Though the production was a good one - there were no unnecessary delays and the set-up was great - the designs had been featured on the previous nights.

For those who attended Friday night's BikiniPoloooza and Saturday night's Mecca of Style, they wouldn't have missed many of the designs if they didn't attend Fashionblock, because the same designs were shown. Twenty-three designs were showcased, including RAW, Shades of Africa, Siim/Timeless gear, and Chris Pablo, among others.

Nonetheless, if they didn't attend Sunday night's show, they would have missed the raw energy that could only happen due to the street vibes.
