Man killed, girlfriend injured in gun attack
published: Friday | May 12, 2006

Glenroy Sinclair, Staff Reporter

FOR THE third time in less than a week, gunmen have attacked and shot a common-law couple. The most recent incident took place in Braeton, St. Catherine, Tuesday night, when 28-year-old Nehemiah Hall was killed and his 19-year-old girlfriend injured.

Reports are that, about 8:30 p.m., the couple was attacked by a lone gunman while walking along the Braeton main road. It is alleged that the teenage woman was shot at least five times in the back and twice in the hip. Mr. Hall, who was shot several times, died on the spot while his female companion has been hospitalised in serious condition.

There are allegations that the shooting could be related to a domestic dispute.

On Monday, businessman Ricardo Campbell and his common-law wife, Camiesha Anderson, were found dead at the couple's one-bedroom house in Golden Hill, a rural district near Stony Hill, St. Andrew. Police said the bodies had gunshot and stab wounds.

Another common-law couple was murdered in Norwood, St. James. Police reports said the two, Taniesha Lawrence and Garfield 'Gary' McKenzie, were murdered by gunmen, who later beheaded Mr. McKenzie.
