PUBLIC DEFENDER Howard Hamilton has intervened in the case at the Glenhope Place of Safety in Kingston where two wards of the state died in separate incidents.
Speaking yesterday morning on 'Independent Talk' on Power 106, the Public Defender offered few details but confirmed that his office was pursuing the case.
Last Friday night, a two-year-old boy from the children's home died after ingesting medication that was not prescribed for him.
Another child reportedly took the tablets from the tray of an attendant who was dispensing medication to sick children and gave them to seven others telling them they were sweets.
In the other incident on Good Friday, two-year-old Nathan Burton suffocated in his own vomit after an epileptic attack.
The Child Development Agency and Children's Advocate Mary Clarke are also investigating the incidents.
