DEADLOCKED WITH Waterhouse in a hot race to the Wray and Nephew Premier League finish line, Harbour View F.C. had their day brightened yesterday with news of further support from long-time associates Diamond Paint Manufacturers, in the form of a sponsorship paint package valued at about $50,000.
The paint will be used to line the pitch at the Harbour View Mini Stadium, built in 1994, for a one-year period which should include about 16 Premier League home games. The product will replace hydrated lime (Calcium hydroxide) which was previously used to line the field. Hydrated lime is considered toxic and has been known to give rise to chemical skin burns and irritations and potentially serious damage to the eyes and skin on contact.
In addition to the obvious health benefits of the sponsorship deal, Harbour View general manager Clyde Jureidini was pleased to have continued corporate support.
"We welcome them on board and from this small start we hope to move to bigger and better things, perhaps helping with refurbishing the stadium," Jureidini said.
"We are very thankful for this start, which will no doubt help us to play our home games at an improved level," he said.
