No stopping Rigmarole

PUNTERS HAD a field day at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, winning both the Pick-9 and Super-6 in large numbers.

The Pick-9 saw 69 punters with nine of nine each receiving $14,493.00. The Super-6, on the other hand, realised 468 correct forecasts of $1.722.50 each. It turned out to be a good day for form players, thanks to a number of winning odds-on favourites. These included CLASSY BOY PETE and DORALDO, both at 3-5, TWEEDSIDE at 1-2 and JACK BE GOOD at 4-5.

Tomorrow, however, things looks a lot more difficult to unravel insofar as the Pick-9 is concerned. This embraces races three to 11, while the Super-6 starts from race six through to 11.We look at the Super-6.

It gets underway with a conditional $160,000 straight five claiming race to be contested by 10 starters. The horses to note are WILD ZONE under title-chasing jockey Wesley Henry, MAKING WAVES with champion jockey Brian Harding, BOUND FOR GLORY to be ridden by Richie Mitchell and LADY BALLARI, the mount of Panamanian jockey Ameth Robles.

All are fully effective over the straight but it will than likely come down to WILD ZONE and BOUND FOR GLORY who is long overdue for a winning effort.

Although not the best drawn at post position one, WILD ZONE usually reserves his best efforts for the straight course. When last raced on December 31, he failed by only a length to beat AIR SPEED over the course and reporting in good nick, can definitely take the honours.

Preference, however, is for BOUND FOR GLORY who was not disgraced when finishing 4 3/4 lengths fourth to WHITE WATER over the straight from a bad draw on March 11. Now well drawn and 2.0kg lighter, he should make no mistake.

Harding should have better luck with ME LLAMO in the seventh race over 1800 metres. True, this chestnut filly who finished fifth (beaten five lengths) in last year's Courts Jamaica Oaks over 2000 metres, has not lived up to expectations and is regarded as a bit one-paced.

However, this represents her easiest task for some time and if able to reproduce her February 22 performance when finishing a close third to RED CHRISTMAS over 1820 metres, should be winning this from a long way out. UNIQUE SELECTION and recent winner LEGENDARY GLITZ are twin dangers.

OBEAHMAN, who finished a close third to SWEETLOOKINGGUY over the straight on January 21, will be hard to beat in the eighth race where HE AINŐT HEAVY and BLACKMOUTH should ensure he is extended.

RIGMAROLE, by virtue of his consistency, looks the right choice under leading jockey Charles Hussey in the ninth race over 1200 metres, while it should be TIGERINTHEWOODS and ROYAL COMMAND, both recent winners, in the last two races. They have most to fear from KERMIT and RIZZI LEE respectively.
