GTECH Corporation on Wednesday, March 8, rolled out the red carpet for guests at its 25th anniversary dinner held at the Pegasus hotel's Montego Suite.

Starting with cocktails, the event was significant because it marked a 25-year milestone in the company's history which coincided with the fifth anniversary of GTECH's local subsidiary, GTECH Jamaica. The evening also proved to be the perfect opportunity to honour staff and management. In so doing, awards for long service and unwavering commitment were given.

STAFF LAUDED

Ann Dawn Young Sang, general manager of GTECH Jamaica and one of the recipients of a long service award, lauded her staff for their contribution to making GTECH the best lottery technology service provider in this hemisphere. She spoke highly of her staff and glowingly of her management team. It was also an ideal time to unveil to the gathering the company's education plan which will benefit schools in the rural areas that are in dire need of assistance.

In addition to her presentation, there was a slide show showcasing the growth of GTECH in Jamaica.

The Montego Suite was decorated by Francis Mais, who used the company colours, blue and white. Paula Ann Porter MC'd the proceedings, which began with blessings from Monsignor Richard Albert. Dinner was exceptionally delicious and included gungo peas soup, mango sorbet, sauteed fish, chicken smothered with shrimp in cream sauce, duchess sweet potatoes and steamed vegetables. And for dessert there was a strawberry cake.

A grand anniversary cake another Selena Wong creation was cut by Paul Hoo, chairman of Supreme Ventures, GTECH's partner, and Ann Dawn Young Sang.

Guests in attendance included: Janette Stewart, Brian George, Joseph Issa, Dave Cameron, Paul Campbell, Clive Mullings, Lorna Gooden, Sonia Davidson, Linda Ann Millingen, Walter Scott, Harry Smith, Ernie Smith, Kay Osbourne, Dr. David McBean, Chris Daley, Barrington Chisholm, Gurney Beckford, Lorna Green, Adrian Robinson, Peter Lampart and a host of others.
