Tulloch ready to quit Arnett
published: Saturday | February 25, 2006

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

Tulloch

ARNETT GARDENS coach Michael Tulloch has come out to say that he could resign from the club following tomorrow's Wray and Nephew National Premier League match against Village United at Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Tulloch's comments came after his co-coach Jerome Waite was fired with immediate effect following Wednesday's 0-2 loss to Boys' Town.

"I have already drafted my resignation. It is left to if they will also accept. I had that planned even before the Boys' Town game, but because of what transpired I held it back, but I intend to do it. At the end of the day you have to assess yourself as a person and see if what is being done is being done properly. If somebody else can come and do a better job then why not," said Tulloch.

Choosing not to take any sides in the differences between Arnett's management and their long time head coach, Tulloch does feel for Waite after his sudden axing.

"Like any coach you are never happy to hear that a man has lost his job, but those are not my decisions. The administration has made their decision so I just have to go along with it and try to do my best now that I am there," he said.

SHOULD FEEL BADLY

"I haven't seen him or spoken to him, but I wouldn't know how he feels, but he should feel badly because this was his life. To move on might take a while.

"However, I am not planted there so if I am not doing what they expect then maybe Sunday I could be gone too. But I am taking a positive outlook and trying to motivate and add positiveness to the thing. If it doesn't work out then I won't feel hurt," added Tulloch.

In response to the fact that his job was looking shaky, Tulloch was nonchalant.

"No problem. I feel that if a person employs you and they feel that the job is not being done to their satisfaction then they have the right to fire and hire," he said.

"I will continue to do my best and try to improve on certain things," he said.

Arnett Gardens Football Club president Patrick Roberts said Waite was fired for not focusing on youth, which is in line with a mandate that he was given. But Tulloch isn't sure of that.

"I can't say that he is stifling the youth but he has a different way of assessing them and I might view it differently," said Tulloch.

That difference might mean that Tulloch will remain as Arnett's coach for a little longer, but if not he has no qualms with calling it quits.

"It has to be dealt with. Maybe tomorrow, maybe Sunday maybe on Monday I'll hand it in because we are not getting the required results," ended Tulloch.
