THE EDITOR, Sir:
KINDLY ALLOW me the space to express to the current adminstration my disgust with their firearm licensing regime. My husband who, for many including myself, is a generous and hardworking individual, applied for a firearm over two years ago. He has been cleared by all relevant bodies involved but has been refused an interview based on the 'mood' of the superintendents. Yet while we have been waiting others who are more 'affluent' have been granted firearm licences.
REQUEST PAYMENT
To make matters worse, he has been frequently contacted by well known and respectable officers of the JCF who request payment to do a thing for him.
Minister Phillips et al, all I am asking is for our own personal protection. We are law-abiding citizens who only want an opportunity to defend ourselves when necessary. The police cannot be everywhere, but the denial of a right which we seek just because we are not 'big people' in the society is unfair.
I am etc.,
