Jamaica Gleaner Volunteer Today
published: Saturday | November 26, 2005

Providing support for medical research in Jamaica
"WHEN WE host our banquets, we don't do so for a splash, we do so to actually raise funds," says chairman of the Jamaica Medical Foundation (JMF) Oliver Jones.

Volunteer - alive or dead
"MY FATHER said the first time he visited the University Hospital of the West Indies, and saw the medical practitioners dissecting human bodies, he vowed, when he died, he would donate his body," says Gregory Reid.

Give blood today!
A RECENT blood drive at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona saw 236 students each donate one pint of blood to the National Blood Transfusion Service.
