Thanks for the kind support
published: Sunday | May 1, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS said that it takes a community to grow a child, and this is evident in the kind of community support which the Montego Bay Community Home for Girls enjoys.

We use this medium to express sincere appreciation to those persons who contributed in one way or another to our recent fund-raising event, dubbed "Firs' A-April Fish Fry".

Thanks especially to First Global Bank (MoBay), Coral Cliff, The Wexford, Sam Sharpe Teachers' College, Mrs. Jennifer Hurlock, Mrs. Yon of Salmon's Bakery, Mr. Michael Lee of Pepsi, The Kiwanis Club of Providence, The Rotary Club East, Mr. Freddie Fisher, Mrs. Doreen Bryan of the Wedding Centre, Miss Caroline Cooke, Dr. Heather Fray and the People & Communication class UWI SCS who gave so generously and 'from the heart'.

We sincerely appreciate all those persons who purchased tickets. We have a special word of gratitude for the persons in the Irwin and Fairfield communities who are always there for us.

Thanks also to The Western Mirror, The Gleaner's Western Focus and Errol Smith of Hot 102, who always help us to get the word out. Kindest regards to you all.

I am, etc.,

SHONA HERON

On behalf of the board of directors
