HEAVY OVERNIGHT and morning showers caused play to be abandoned without a ball being bowled, on the fourth day of the Carib Beer Series match between the Leeward Islands and Jamaica at the Carib Lumber Cricket Ground yesterday.
Several wet spots on the outfield and seepage onto the pitch, caused umpires Hector Gumbs and Billy Doctrove to rule play out for the day.
Jamaica were dismissed at the close on Sunday for 448, responding to the Leewards' first innings total of 510 for nine declared.
