THE EDITOR, Sir:I TAKE this opportunity to congratulate the Registrar General's Department in decentralising its services to the parish of Portland, Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth.
This is a very good gesture for those citizens who have to travel many miles to find their way to the central office at Twickenham Park in St. Catherine.
Our roads are congested with traffic, resulting in the lost of several precious hours. With the opening of these offices, this will significantly reduce the workload at the head office.
We the citizens at Greater Portmore metropolitan community would like the RGD to share the same sentiment by opening an office in our community to further reduce the burden at your head office. It is so difficult for us to get out of the traffic to access service. We would be happy to have the convenience of a branch in our community. Please consider us.
