STUDENTS AND teachers of the Blackwood Gardens Basic School in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine, recently stepped into the computer age when the school was presented with a computer by Cable & Wireless Jamaica.

The principal of the school, Debbie Hutchinson, who accepted the gift on behalf of the school, was full of praise for Cable & Wireless, thanking the company for remembering a small community which gets very little corporate assistance.

Errol Miller, head of corporate communications for C&W, who made the presentation, said that his company was delighted to be able to provide the computer, especially as this would be the first exposure that the students would have to such technology.

The computer will be used for introductory courses for the students and some administrative functions.
