Time to set higher values
published: Saturday | March 6, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

A MAN can be murdered for just a bowl of soup, or for just staring at a person who doesn't liked to be stared at.

What could be the reasons for this, is it something in our diet, in the atmosphere, is the pressure of life so hard? Could it be we are all looking out for ourselves only and not for each other?

What about our children? Is there hope for them or are they already adopted children of society? Is their worth measured by what they achieve and not how it is achieved?

What are our values? Do we just want to own a nice car, a big lovely house?

It really doesn't matter how we achieve this as long as it is achieved?

Pastors, are you gods yourselves or are you introducing us to a higher being? It seems to me Christianity is a day out of the week only and not a way of life.

We all need to examine ourselves. Stop pointing fingers, stop talking and do something, starting with us, our attitudes, our moral values our self respect.

I am, etc.,
