Gully a disgrace!

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I WRITE to bring the attention of the totally disgusting state of the gully on Clifton Blvd - that small stretch of road that joins Cassava Piece to Mannings Hill Road.
It was only recently that I witnessed heavy duty equipment clearing that gully and in just a few months it has been transformed into Riverton Dump.
Do the citizens of this community have no pride? Maybe their nostrils do not detect the stench that must penetrate their homes?
There is absolutely no excuse for citizens to dump garbage like that. Maybe Metropolitan Parks and Markets could provide more dumpsters for this community - they clearly need it!
It is high time that the authorities and police get serious with punishing the crime of littering and dumping.
