Reggae Boyz to play China in friendly
published: Wednesday | December 17, 2003

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC:

JAMAICA'S REGGAE Boyz have been invited to play a friendly football international against China early next year as part of their build up for World Cup qualifying competition.

Officials from Jamaica and China have agreed for the two to meet in China on February 18.

"I have in my possession a letter from the Chinese Football Federation inviting us," new Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president Crenston Boxhill said at a press conference on Monday.

The date is a FIFA sanctioned date for practice matches, which means Jamaica's overseas professionals should be available for the assignment.

The Jamaicans, rated No. 1 in the Caribbean, have a world ranking of 46th on FIFA's list, while the Chinese are 86th.
