Panamanian Ambassador's indebtedness
published: Sunday | January 26, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I WISH to point out that your article which was carried in the edition of The Gleaner of the 17th January, 2003, is inaccurate.

It states that the property which was rented by the Panamanian Ambassador and for which he left the island owing US$37,000 (J$1.9 million) belongs to "Howard Hamilton, Q.C., the Public Defender". I wish to point out that I am not the owner of this property neither do I have a daughter by the name of Tracey Hamilton.

I am, etc.,
HOWARD HAMILTON, Q.C.
Public Defender
