The Editor, Sir:I WRITE with great concern about the extreme danger that faces Mandeville. With only three fire trucks allocated, all were out of service yesterday, Thursday, March 6.
On Friday, March 1, a business place that sells second-hand cars and car parts was completely lost as the fire engine's pump had problems and the fire hydrant was in such poor condiditon, that only dirty leaves would come out. The firemen had to wait until the emergency water truck arrived, before any action could be taken.
I call on Minister Junor to take immediate and urgent steps to move proper, working fire equipment into Mandeville and to make sure that the fire station is adequately manned to ensure the safety of lives and property in Manchester.
