A political haven on earth

The Editor, Sir:

THE recent announcement by the profiling political parsons that they are starting a political movement, not to be confused with a political party, whose objective will be to entice the brightest minds in the political process to join their naive, utopian king-making antics which will, in their opinion, ensure them victory at the polls and a place in their proposed perfect political heaven on earth.

Their manifesto, to be kind, is formatted in a most unconventional way, based as it seems on a "hereafter" formula provided the applicants has the "saintly, brainy" profile that is a requirement in order to enter oops! join the chosen few.

One wonders what symbol will be chosen to designate this heavenly team? What will be used to signify the seal of approval?

I wonder if any of these saintly wannabee political brokers have ever experienced at firsthand the almost inhuman pressures that are a major part of the political representational process in the Jamaican democratic form of Government. How do they plan to change the accepted norms which, with all their faults, have kept this country free from dictatorial political practices that have caused political upheavals in so many other countries?

My suggestion to these persons is that they best continue to do the best in what they do best.

I am etc,

"AMEN"

P.O. Box 224,

Mandeville.
