Seaga should testify

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM calling Mr. Seaga a coward for not facing the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry. In fact the entire Jamaica was hopeful that the Opposition Leader would have testified at the enquiry based on the fact that he is a key witness as to what happened on the morning of July 7, 2001.

Despite his unhappiness with the make-up of the Commission, being a key witness, he should have gone forward to give his testimony. How will we know the real truth if a key witness such as Eddie Seaga is backing down? His decision not to testify evoked one common phrase from the Jamaican people and that is "there goes Seaga again".

I am hoping that he will encourage Councillor Desmond McKenzie to take the stand and allow us "concerned citizens of Jamaica" to hear the JLP perspective as to what transpired on July 7, 2001.

I am etc.,
