The Rhoden triplets - very cute babies

AREN'T WE PRETTY: From left, Raneisha, 'Little', Rakeisha 'Second', and Raeisha 'Bigga' Rhoden play in their favourite chair at their home in Sandy River, Clarendon. - Dennis Coke

AREN'T they the cutest little kids you have ever seen?

Raeisha (Bigga), Rakeisha (Second), Raneisha (Little) Rhoden hold the title as the cutest babies in the Kellits/Sandy River area in Clarendon.

However, none of them can take the title of cutest baby as they are identical triplets. The chubby, bright brown-eyed and fair-skinned toddlers are very special to their family.

Their mother, Johanna 'Annie' Richards of Sandy River, Clarendon, told THE WEEKEND STAR that although her children bring her much happiness she has difficulties maintaining them.

"It is hard to keep up with them," she said. "They use up a lot of diapers, sometimes three of the 84 packs in one month."

The one-year-old girls, who each weigh between 8.2 and 9kg also have voracious appetites. "Their father who is in St. Ann don't help me much. I'm basically their mother and father," Ms Richards said.

Richards, who has three older children, said that the stress of raising the children is so great that she has no problem asking for help.

"I really need the help for them because I'm not in a job right now and I don't have the money to spend on them," she said.

Richards said that she did the ultrasound when she was about four months' pregnant, and doctors told her that she would be having twins.

"Although there was not much money I tried to prepare myself for them," she told THE WEEKEND STAR. But when the children were born two months later at the Mandeville Hospital, Johanna and her family were in for a surprise.

"The doctor said that I would be having twins but when I gave birth to them we were shocked when I had triplets. The first two came out and when they were taking out the aftebirth the other one came out," she said.

In addition to post natal visits, the girls, who were born prematurely, also have to pay monthly visits to the doctors in Mandeville.

The children have no major complications but Richards said that the doctors are not taking any chances with their lives.
