Jarrett hearing resumes today

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC:

JAMAICAN SPRINT star Patrick Jarrett, contesting a failed drug test for the banned drug Stanozolol, is expected to resume his hearing with the local governing body today.

Jarrett, who tested positive for the banned drug the National Championships in June, has denied knowingly using the drug and has vowed to fight to clear his name.

He faces a two-year ban from the sport if found guilty of doping.

Jarrett, who scored upset wins over World and Olympic champion Maurice Greene, and Barbadian Olympic bronze medallist Obadele Thompson at separate meets in May, had his first hearing in July.

But that hearing, before the five-member committee of the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA), was adjourned because reports of some laboratory test results were missing.
