Mullings' office firebombed

ARSONISTS ATTACKED a section of the building housing the People's National Party (PNP) South-East constituency office on Main Street in Claremont, St. Ann, yesterday morning.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the scorched front door, along with two chairs, valued at $25,000, were discovered by the caretaker at about 7:00 a.m.

Member of Parliament for the constituency, Seymour Mullings, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land and Environment, condemned the attack as "barbarous".

"As the Member of Parliament for South-East St. Ann since 1969, this is the first time that I have experienced this type of violence and hooliganism," he declared. "Obviously this is a serious threat, nothing like this has happened in the 32 years since I first became a Member of Parliament."
