BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair will present the Prince's Cup to the champions as the inner-city five-a-side competition comes to a climax at Sabina Park today.
Thirty-two teams will be vying for the winners trophy and $50,000 dollars.
The second-placed team will collect $30,000 while the third and fourth-placed teams will each take home $10,000.00. In addition the winners will be rewarded with a trip to England courtesy of British Airways to watch that country play the Netherlands in an international friendly on August 15 at White Hart Lane (Tottenham Hotspurs' home ground).
For today's action which kicks off at 9:00 a.m. the 32 teams will be divided into four groups of eight with the winners of each group advancing to the semi-finals. The four semi-finalists will be fully outfitted by the English FA.
The final game which will be broadcast live on national television is set to kick off at 5:00 pm.
An entertainment package including singer George Nooks, deejay Delly ranks, a member of the Monster Shack Crew and other young upcoming artistes from the inner-city.
The Prince's Cup was organised by the Kingston Restoration Company and the British High Commission in a bid to build unity in inner-city communities. His Royal Highness Prince Charles decided to support the process after a visit to West Kingston last year.
