DANZA Hyatt scored a stylish 111 as Gregory Buchanan's X1 took control over Lorenzo Ingram's X1 in the second and final three-day Capital and Credit Merchant Bank's Youth Development Cricket trial match at Sabina Park yesterday.

At the end of yesterday's first day's play Buchanan's X1 had reached 252 for eight.

Former Jamaica Under-15 player Wayne Gayle 41, the leading run-getter at the trials, Shawn Findley 20, supported Hyatt. Not out batsmen Craig Lynch 22 and Omar 'Robert' Campbell 14 will resume batting this morning. Leading the bowling for Ingram's X1 were Wayne Simpson with two for 28 from 18 overs and Dwight Washington two for 56 from 14.

In a one-day match played on Saturday at this same venue, Ingram's X1 beat Buchanan's X1 by six wickets. Buchanan's X1 first made 174 for three with Gayle getting an undefeated 52. Damion Henry 49, Buchanan 20, Damion Gray 18 was also among the runs. Ingram's X1 replied with 175 for four, leading the way was Findley 75 not out and Kenroy Williams 54.

Meanwhile Brian Breese, chief executive officer, Jamaica Cricket Association confirmed yesterday that the West Indies Development team will not be apart of this year's West Indies Under-19 tournament. The decision was taken when Canada pulled out of the tournament. The tournament will now go back to its original format, where every team will play each other in a round robin format and the winners on points declared the champions.
