Ritz Carlton Hotel and the PM's office

THE EDITOR, Sir:

RECENTLY, ON a talk programme, a caller took exception to the fact that the general manager of The Ritz Carlton Hotel had sought the assistance of the Prime Minister's good office in light of the mass cancellations experienced by the Ritz Carlton and many other hotels due to the publicity surrounding the recent disturbances in Kingston and elsewhere.

The Ritz Carlton has created a huge boost to all sectors of the economy of Montego Bay and if this hotel along with all the others is going to be adversely affected by the publicity that these incidents have received on both sides of the Atlantic then the general managers either individually or collectively have absolutely every right to call on the Office of the Prime Minister for help.

The bad publicity which Jamaica has suffered as a result of these incidents will send shock waves through the economy of this country and it is hoped that the office of the Prime Minister will heed the requests for help.

I am etc.,
