Horrible refereeing

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AFTER WATCHING that match that we played against Costa Rica last night, I would have to say that along with the Reggae Boys I felt the excitement, the amazement and the frustration of what happened I almost came to tears as the end of the match sounded.

This referee was very biased and I could not believe his blatant disregard for fair play, it seemed that every time there was a tackle regardless if it was done to us, we were wrong. The amount of free kicks and yellow cards seemed too much to overcome, but we kept playing and the entire team and Jamaicans worldwide were upset about what was happening. I just want to tell the Reggae Boys, 'Good Show' and we are behind you 150 per cent.

We need to now concentrate on the rest of our matches and make sure that we get into the World Cup and are seen as a force to be reckoned with.

I would like to ask Mr. Burrell, when there is such a biased referee what can be done?

What does FIFA do to these referees?

How are these referees chosen? Maybe we all should e-mail the JFF to show our support for the Reggae Boys.

I am etc.,
