WESTERN BUREAU: THE UNITED States Embassy of Public Affairs in Kingston is expressing concern over the continued disappearance of American travel writer, Claudia Kirschhoch, noting that their office remains committed in its efforts to find her. J. Michael Korff-Rodrigues, Counsellor for Public Affairs, in a statement sent to The Gleaner, wrote, "all of us at the American Embassy sympathise deeply with the pain which the Kirschhoch family must be in as we approach the anniversary of Claudia Kirscchoch's disappearance. We continue to publicise the $J2 million reward offered for information leading to Ms. Kirschhoch's whereabouts, a reward posted on the Embassy's web site with a photograph early in the investigation. The Embassy has helped to ensure the widest possible dissemination of this information to the Jamaican media and public." He added that the Jamaican authorities have been especially co-operative in the effort to locate Ms. Kirschhoch, and "we are grateful for the extraordinary lengths to which the authorities have gone in this matter. We continue to provide liaison support between the Jamaican Constabulary Force and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). We stand ready to offer all possible support and assistance to Ms. Kirschhoch's family," the statement concluded. Back to Cornwall Edition
