Times Store closure a sad event

THE EDITOR, Sir:

TIMES STORE to close? I am in shock, but not surprised. The violence, poor management of the country and the driving away of sensible Jamaicans in recent years has lead to a drastic decline in morals; decline in the appreciation of work and knowledge; decline in the practice of sound principles to live by. These were signs indicating decadence and a new trend.

I got my first job at Times Store as a teenager entering the work-place. I learnt management; pricing; customer care and a lot more that took me through life with a clear focus.

I am now 48 years younger from my experience at Times Store, in the late 1960s. I lift my hat to the general manager Mr. Alec Durie who hired me. I enjoyed working at Times Store and now I am sad to learn it is going to close.

I am etc.,
