Riverbed for a road

THE EDITOR, Sir:

We the members of the Seaton & Jobs Hill community club, are writing to you about our road in the south east St. Mary division, which is called the Seaton & Jobs Hill roads.

There is no road just a dry riverbed with some large boulders.

We've been pleading for the last forty years or more, still there is no answer, just empty promises when it's near elections.

We read in the Sunday Gleaner that they are going to be fixing the roads of neighbouring communities which are Luna and Mt. Regale and leaving us in the middle as always.

There was also an accident recently killing a girl going to school. I know if we had roads; this could have been prevented because she could have taken a bus or taxi to school and ride comfortably. Baby mothers have had miscarriages, while being driven to the hospital. As a result of the road condition, people are moving away from the district.

As for school children, they have to walk to Mt. Charles or Richmond, and it is very stressful and frustrating.

We are, etc.,
