By Merrick Andrews,
Youth Writer For the girls, it's about the money and his car.
Sometimes they fall in love - schoolgirl crushes that sooner or later lead to heartbreak. But for a month or two they really believe that they've found love and protection.
For the men it's the endless and ready supply of fresh young flesh.
It's simple, says 16-year-old Tiffany Johnstone, whose name and those of the taxi drivers in this article have been changed by request. "The reason why I love taxi men is because they get daily money and they can carry me wherever I want," she said in explaining why she has crossed boys her age off her dating list.
"Schoolboys get lunch money, big man get paid. And I don't regret what I'm saying," added the third form student of a St. Catherine high school.
Tiffany is dating her second taxi man. The first relationship only lasted a week. "I wasn't up to his standard, he wanted pure sex and he didn't want to let off any money".
Eight months ago Tiffany succumbed to the charms and wallet of her second taxi driver who started working his magic through her friends who kept telling her that a taxi man liked her 'unique' face.
When the identity of her secret admirer was revealed, Tiffany said she was flabbergasted because he had always 'acted like a saint' and only went for the 'hotter type of women'. "I couldn't believe it! I was like, wow, me?!"
It took two weeks of smiles and conversation for the two to start discussing a "serious" relationship.
He promised endless love, marriage, happiness. Now Tiffany is in love. "I believed every word and I still do because his actions speak louder than his words," she said.
For 23-year-old taxi driver Javunik Bailey, dating schoolgirls is a no-brainer. He craves the pleasure of their tight vaginas and he changes them every three months or so, he explained.
"You know, the younger the cow the fresher the meat."
Plus it's easy and it doesn't take much to please them, he noted.
He coaxes them into his taxi playground with his brand new deportee and handsome features and they do the rest, he said.
"For a schoolgirl ... you just have to say meet me at a spot and she'll ensure that she's there." They're not into boys their age "because most of the younger fellas don't really have the facilities we have -- vehicle and money."
His current schoolgirl is 17 and attends high school in Spanish Town. He hooked her with just a simple chit chat about her social life one evening after school.
Make no doubt about it, he added, she was no virgin and she begged him for sex, said Javunik. She adores him, he noted, but like the others he has no intention of keeping her around too long. In addition to other matters, he has his 26-year-old wife to think about.
Tiffany's boyfriend is also married. She found this out after a month of dating when she spied him with a woman one weekend.
He confessed and Tiffany said she felt disappointed, heart broken and alone. "I didn't speak to him for two weeks because I was hurt," she said.
Still, he has apologized and has assured her that he loves her more than his 21-year-old wife who he believes is dating someone else. He just wants to catch her red-handed, he explained, then he'll get a divorce, and re-marry -- Tiffany.
She believes him.
"I am not going to back down. I have better than what she (his wife) has. I have the swing."
Meanwhile, Javunik is convinced that his wife will never be the wiser about his school girl affairs. "She couldn't know 'bout that, who woulda tell her? The schoolgirl naaw know 'bout that either," he said.
As for her schooling, Javunik said he that's not his responsibility. "Mi nuh
really know about those things de."
"EVEN THE LAWMEN ARE DOING IT."
While parents, feminists, government, agencies responsible for child welfare, and others frown on the sexual liaison between young girls and adult men (these days the trend is taxi drivers), the men and their young lovers say they don't understand the fuss.
"It's reality," shrugged Tiffany, "...because even the lawmen are doing it."
Javunik, after pausing for a moment: "Well, technically... it's wrong, but it's not wrong in her eyes or my eyes. As I said schoolgirl is just another girl. Schoolgirls are something like just a fling yuh nuh."
