Westmoreland on top in Cornwall Senior Cup

WESTMORELAND gained first innings points from St. Elizabeth in the Cornwall Senior Cup cricket competition at the weekend.

The result left Westmoreland on 12 points from four games, one more than St. Elizabeth.

Three centuries were scored during the round.

Leading the way was St. James' Jason Spence who cracked 113 against Trelawny, Trelawny's Lorenzo Ingram 103 against St. James and St. Elizabeth's discarded national player Carl Wright who scored an even 100 on Saturday against Westmoreland.

Scores: St. Elizabeth 205 all out (Carl Wright 100, Lincoln Brown 27, Keron Baker 24; Michael Salmon 4-55, Cleveland Davidson 2-64) and 93 for four (Sheldon Gordon 49; Michael Salmon took all four wickets for 24). Westmoreland 237 all out (Cleveland Davidson 67 not out, Damion Davidson 40, Esric Colquhoun 15; Ainsley Gross 4-32, Keron Baker 3-60).

Trelawny, led by 103 from schoolboy Lorenzo Ingram, gained first innings points over St. James.

Scores: St. James 135 all out (Vinroy Cooke 23, Damion Gary 22, Samuel Evans 20; Jeffery Wright 3-19, Ingram 3-31) and 317 for eight (Jason Spence 113, Gray 40, Owen Burke 34, Gary Campbell 31; Wilson 3-106, Levi Hinds 2-53). Trelawny 318 for eight dec. (Ingram 103, Patrick Spence 57, Carlington Johnson 57, Myron Wilson 37, Negus Samuels 32 not out).

St. Catherine are now the new leaders of the Middlesex Senior Cup competition after they led Clarendon on first innings.

St. Catherine are on 12 points from five games, one more than St. Ann who are on eleven from three.

Scores: Clarendon 199 all out and 159 (Orlando Baker 42, Barrington Brown 36, Lascelles Davis 4-50, Colin Buchanan 3-26, Brenton Beckford 2-13). St. Catherine 296 all out (Lloyd Rattray 84, Andre O'Sullivan 42 not out, Maurice Cole 14; Baker 4-55, Dwight Stewart 2-32, Hamlet Stewart 2-60). and 34 for three.

Defending Middlesex Cup champions St. Ann got first innings points over St. Mary at Grays Inn at the weekend.

Scores: St. Mary 168 (Tyson Gordon 46, Ian McLeod 25, Adriel Byfield 25; Richard Hoilette 4-13, Courtney Laing 3-66, Olanzo Harris 2-46) and 134 for five (Gordon 46, Dervin Morand 38). St Ann 193 all out (Leon Garrick 65, Lincoln Edwards 38; Dervin Morand 4-43, Steve Dwyer 3-19).
