SOS Children's Villages to get grant

WESTERN BUREAU:

THE SOS Children's Villages in Jamaica will soon benefit from a $US140,000 donation which was raised recently by real estate giant CB Richard Ellis, while vacationing in Jamaica.

Employees of the company, the world's largest commercial real estate dealer, are having their annual conference at the Ritz Carlton Rosehall.

Christopher Ludeman, president of Transaction Manage-ment, speaking with The Gleaner on Tuesday, said they were so impressed by the warmth of the Jamaican people that they wanted to give back something to the island.

"So we had a fund-raising diner and matched the donations made by employees that night," he said.

The donation amounts to well over $5 million Jamaican. "We are absolutely thankful and grateful," said Johann Denk, director of SOS.

"CB Ellis must be commended for such a donation they are certainly giving a great opportunity to the children of SOS."
