Time to reflect

HERE'S HOPING that Jamaicans, now more than ever, will find time to reflect on the past millennium, in terms of man's advancement, technologically, and also his lack of development of compassion towards his fellow being. In the past 1,000 years, there have been more wars fought, either for religious or political aspirations. We need to question authority, knowing that it is the authorities that have created these wars, and have not fulfilled man's need to exercise the "love thy neighbour" concept. We need to set ourselves to acquire information knowing that, information is what we will need to advance our clarity of who and what we are, and what is our relation to our environment and what is in it. In this millennium we need to analyse, where we truly want to go, and what is preventing us from going to that place. We need to rethink our political ideology and our religious beliefs, because it would appear that within the past 2000 years, these beliefs have not aided us in advancing towards a more humane existence.

How can you say that you love that which you cannot see, yet still you cannot love that which you can see. First you need to love that which you can see, as it is a manifestation of that which you cannot see. So all sages from different times have remarked that the first stage of being human, is love.
