Let's tee off

WHO SAYS exercising has to be routine and boring. Why not try a sport like golf? It's gentle on the body, usually played in peaceful surroundings and you can maximise the fitness component of the sport by walking the golf course instead of driving thus expending calories and improving cardiovascular health. If you carry your own clubs, the fitness experts also say you will build upper body strength.

Learn to swing the club then try to master the game's four shots - putting, driving, chipping and sand play.

Fitness experts suggest you warm-up and cool-down before and after the game to avoid injuries. Stretches that focus on the neck, shoulders, arms and back are recommended. Swinging the club back and forth is also a good way to loosen the upper body.

You've got the basics, you are all warmed up, now let's tee off.
