An evening of delicious foods, fine wines

Robert Levy, president and chief executive officer of the Jamaica Broilers Group (right), grabs the attention of Dr. Laura Tanna and Oliver Foot, vice-president of Air Jamaica and Sandals group respectively. They were at a cocktail reception in honour of distinguished journalist, Sir Trevor McDonald, at Le Meridien Jamaica Pegaasus, recently.

A FEW members and friends of Jamaica Broilers Group of companies and The Press Association of Jamaica met for a cocktail reception at Le Meridien Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, in honour of Sir Trevor McDonald, who was also guest speaker at the company's first annual Excellence in Media forum.

The group lauded Sir Trevor for his innovative address and thanked him for taking time out to give the lecture. They were served delicious hors d'oeuvres, along with fine wines, lager beers and fruit juices.

The Gleaner visited the Hilton Kingston Hotel, New Kingston, where executives and friends of The National Commercial Bank and Air Jamaica gathered for the launch of NCB Travel Master card - a co-branded credit card, linked to the Air Jamaica 7th Heaven programme.

Christopher Lowe, managing director of NCB brought greetings from NCB, while John Lewis, executive vice president, Air Jamaica spoke on that company's behalf.

Monica Bucknor, assistant general manager, NCB card services, gave the Travel Master product description, while Rodger Williams, programmes manager for Marketing and Sales at Air Jamaica explained how the 7th Heaven aspect functions. John Lewis and Christopher Lowe unveiled the product model.

Five persons were chosen at random for a gift of the first five NCB Travel Master card. Meanwhile six persons received model aeroplanes from an impromptu raffle and Oliver Clarke, chairman and managing director The Gleaner Company, was given the seventh, complimentarily.

Guests quickly devoured the beautifully laid-out cocktail, which was comprised of fruit trays, pastry trays, cheeses and vegetable trays. Fresh fruits, including cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple, watermelon and apple. Delicious pastries, barbecued chicken wings, escovietch fish, bacon and cheese sandwiches were just some of the delicacies prepared for the evening's event.

In a jazzy and upbeat atmosphere people milled around and chatted. And, each received a gift on leaving the ballroom.
